We’ve planted!

Squash! in Reused/Recycled/biodegradable brown paper planters!

For the first time in what has felt like a decade, we will not have subfreezing weather for the whole week. We transplanted some of our seedlings into our cold frames to celebrate! We also built sub-irrigated planters out of reused shipping pallets (yes, we scoured NYC for them and carried them to our garden!). We’ll put soil in those this weekend and transplant some more seedlings. We’ll update here with a date and time!

In the meanwhile, check out pictures on our photo page to see us getting down and dirty!

We’ll also put up a detailed guide to building sub-irrigated planters from shipping pallets soon!
